Weekend in Louisville
The highlight of my weekend was having lobster with grandma!!!
This is a picture of the girls as they watch the fireworks! Love it!
We thought that it would be fun to take our foreign exchange students to Louisville for the weekend to enjoy Thunder Over Louisville. For those of you that do not know, it is the biggest fireworks show in North America. It is also the opening event for the Kentucky Derby Festival. Not only are there fireworks but an air show as well. We came in Friday night and stayed with Chris's grandmother. We spent time with family Saturday morning and then went to the air show. We only stayed for a few of the planes. Then we went back to grandmas for a Lobster boil. The girls love seafood and we have been talking about having lobster. In Tami's words it was "fabulous". Then off to the fireworks we went. We walked and walked. Madie fell and busted her knee, but we finally made to a perfect spot that Chris's little brother had found for us. Believe it or not Max was so tired that he slept through the entire fireworks show. How sad, he walked all the way there and all the way back just to sleep through the show. Sunday, we went to church and lunch with family. Then I took all the kids to bowling with my sister and her church. Then back to Fort Wayne to recover.

Spring Break - Destin, Florida
We decided to take the family to the beach this year for Spring Break. It has been 4 or 5 years since we have been to Destin, Florida. So we took off on Friday and drove to Huntsville, Alabama. We took the kids to the Air and Space Museum on the way. Then back in the car to drive some more. We stayed in Florida from Saturday to Saturday. The weather was beautiful. We only saw rain one day. We swam, built sand castles, rode go carts, played mini golf, shopped and ate way too much. As always, all good things must come to an end. On Saturday, we decided to drive all the way home. Wow, that was a long drive. But in the end, it was worth it to sleep in our own beds.
